The Role
The online platform Reconcept Portfolio has more than 50,000 users across over 100 healthcare organizations in the Netherlands. More than 70% of all medical specialists in the Netherlands are trained using our platform. We are currently expanding internationally.
As a Senior Developer / Technical Lead, you play a key role in the development of the entire application, with a strong focus on architectural decisions. In addition, you are responsible for optimizing the existing codebase. When complex trade-offs need to be made, you make the call. Security, usability, and innovation are crucial to our target audience and therefore top priorities.
The backend forms the foundation for multiple web and mobile applications and is built in Ruby on Rails. We use OAuth2 for single sign-on and GraphQL to expose our API to the frontend. The frontend consists of an Angular web application and a mobile app. Our workflows are well-structured with clear goals, yet non-bureaucratic—allowing us to move fast and get things done.
In the coming period, the focus will be on further developing the existing platform. Several challenging projects are on the roadmap, including AI integrations such as Speech-to-Text. You will collaborate closely with frontend and backend colleagues to deliver the best solutions for our users and take the lead in technical decision-making.

Who We’re Looking For
- You are an enthusiastic (backend) developer who has spent years building robust applications
- You enjoy tackling complex architectural challenges
- You have demonstrable, extensive experience developing with one or more backend frameworks, preferably Ruby on Rails (experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular is a plus)
- You like to move fast and get things done, but also work well in a team
- You enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues
- You are used to working in an Agile environment
- You want to be challenged and to challenge others
- You are available 28–40 hours per week
