Effortlessly manage learning progress

The core of Competency-Based Medical Education revolves around placing trainees in real medical settings and enabling them to gather feedback on their learning progress. With the Reconcept EPA Portfolio, it has never been easier to apply this practical form of training.

Streamlined feedback collection process

Reconcept EPA Portfolio is specifically designed for workplace learning, making it easy  and fast for trainees to gather both informal feedback and formal assessments. Generating a feedback request is simple: just select the appropriate assessment tool within the portfolio, complete the necessary information, and submit the request to the supervisor.

The trainee gets notified when their feedback has been reviewed by their supervisor and the result of the review is immediately visible in the trainees portfolio.

Just as feedback can be collected in the workplace, it can also be reviewed directly on the trainee’s device by entering the supervisor’s unique PIN, providing a flexible and convenient way to manage feedback and enhance workplace learning.

Formative and summative assessment support

The trainee can find all the assessment instruments from their medical curriculum in their portfolio. This includes both formative and summative assessments such as Workplace Based Assessments, summative assessments of EPAs, 360-degree feedback questionnaires and Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE).

Since all assessment instruments are pre-formatted with defined fields, completing the process of requesting feedback is straightforward and time-efficient for the trainee.

Cross-competency feedback collection

A major advantage is that a Workplace Based Assessment in Reconcept EPA Portfolio can be relevant for multiple EPAs or even cross-disciplinary skills. This makes it much easier for trainees to collect feedback in daily practice from naturally occurring situations, rather than searching for specific scenarios from a checklist that are still ‘needed’ for the portfolio.

Additionally, trainees can connect feedback to their personal learning goals, thus creating a history that clearly shows how they have developed in that area.
