UEMS 2026

May 27May 30

This May, the European Union of Medical Specialists brings together medical specialists from across Europe to strengthen collaboration, celebrate innovation, and advance European medical standards. A key focus of the event is on European Training Requirements (ETRs). For many programs, the main question is: how do you turn these requirements into a training program that works in daily practice? Visit our booth to learn how EPA-based, competency-driven approaches and an EPA Portfolio can help make training clear, practical, and easy to assess.

Think of an ETR as the official blueprint for a medical specialty in Europe. Developed by UEMS, it outlines the required infrastructure, trainer qualifications, and, most importantly, the curriculum needed to train competent specialists. The ultimate goal of the ETR is to harmonise postgraduate medical education across Europe.

In newer ETRs, the curriculum is no longer just a list of knowledge points. It is becoming fully EPA-driven. Adopting an EPA-based, competency-driven approach for your curriculum allows you to turn the high-level expectations of ETRs into concrete, practical outcomes in your training program.

Learn how to make EPA-based training a success

Visit our booth (4) at the UEMS Congress to discover how we can help you, as a programme director or curriculum developer, master EPA-based medical education: from core concepts to practical implementation.

Discover how an EPA Portfolio provides the structure and tools to turn ETRs into observable clinical activities, clear assessments, and transparent trainee progress, helping your program consistently develop competent, high-quality specialists.

Looking forward meeting you this May in Belgium!
