APMEC 2027

Early next year, we will be attending APMEC 2027 in Kyoto. This annual conference is the largest and most prominent event in medical education within the Asia-Pacific region. The theme for the upcoming edition is “The Wisdom of Imperfection: Learning Beyond Efficiency – Trends ● Issues ● Priorities ● Strategies”.
The theme reminds visitors that while striving for perfection and predictable outcomes is often the norm, true learning embraces uncertainty, values the process of becoming, and finds wisdom in the space between perfection and progress. It calls to recognize that the most profound educational experiences often emerge not from flawless execution, but from thoughtful reflection on challenges, failures, and the courage to remain curious.
This philosophy aligns seamlessly with the core principles of EPA-based learning. By shifting the focus from single, high-stakes assessments to continuous, workplace-based feedback, trainees are empowered to learn by doing: embracing daily challenges, reflecting on imperfections, and steadily building clinical competence step by step.
At our booth (D2), we are excited to showcase how the Reconcept EPA Portfolio supports the practical implementation of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) using the EPA-framework. Stop by to see how our platform transforms the healthcare workplace into an environment where learning and development naturally become part of every trainee’s daily routine.
